Splash House Turns up the Desert Heat in Palm Springs With ODESZA, Snakehips and Chill Poolside Vibes
Matt Matasci
Splash House, the huge celebration/pool party hosted in Palm Springs by Goldenvoice, is back for its fourth year. While the promotional giant is most widely known for putting on the enormous April music fest Coachella, they also host a wide range of smaller events throughout So Cal. One of those events is the two-weekend electronic music extravaganza that takes place on June 10-12 and August 12-14. As usual, this year’s lineup runs the gamut of the world’s most popular DJs and electro music artists. At the top of the billing for the star-studded 2016 Splash House is ODESZA, Jai Wolf, Guy Gerber and Justin Martin in June and Gorgon City, Snakehips, MK and Hudson Mohawke in August.
Each weekend of the Splash House includes a pre-party and post-party, which are hosted at the Palm Springs Air Museum, a breathtaking and unconventional live music venue. In addition to adding well-known artists to the official lineup, these bookending parties always serve as a major highlight of each weekend. The actual events take place at The Saguaro Palm Springs and The Riviera Palm Springs. The Saguaro is the original Splash House venue while The Riviera is a more recent addition to the festivities. Due to the fact that the two main venues for the Splash House fest are located outside of comfortable walking distance, event producers provide a special shuttle to transport attendees back and forth.
Splash House hours are from noon to sundown with the post-party fun taking over on both Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Headlining the after hours at the Air Museum in June is Flight Facilities doing a DJ set and Justin Jay & Friends live while in August those honors go to RÜFÜS DU SOL and the mysteriously masked Claptone providing a DJ set.
Head out to the desert for a weekend of warm sun and great music at the Splash House in Palm Springs June 10 – 12 and August 12 – 14. Find tickets here and here.
