On Oct. 16 Hozier and James Bay, will be sharing the stage at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Irish up-and-comer, Hozier is a singer-songwriter blazing his own path with the help of social media, a devastatingly loyal fan base, and undeniably raw talent. He bleeds a range spanning soft rock to blues, to folk, his acoustic performances highlighting his angelic voice. Hozier gifts his fans with powerful lyrics and soulful messages that seemingly provide a connection to his innermost thoughts. His inner workings are visible on songs like “Like Real People Do” and “From Eden.” The County Wicklow native travels with a full band, his guitar, and two backup singers, creating a full stage that somehow manages to build an intimate performance.
Joining the Irish stud for the evening is 23-year old Brit James Bay, who, although new, is currently owning the folk scene. The talented singer-songwriter powers through performances, and although he has only celebrated the release of two EPs, “The Dark of the Morning” and “Let it Go,” he is creating waves throughout both the US and UK. His grimly-tuned voice and effortless stage presence make him easy to groove to.Some of his most notable songs are “Clocks Go Forward” and “Need the Sun to Break.”
