Lucent Dossier Experience to Transform Club Nokia
Taking a turn on your average night of entertainment, whether it be a movie, a show or a concert, the Lucent Dossier Experience has brought the industry to a new level. Loosely translated to ‘a collection of glowing light,’ Lucent Dossier Experience is an intricate steampunk/vaudeville performing arts company that merges the various art forms of cirque, burlesque and everything in between, creating a highly conceptualized evening that gives its audiences one-of-a-kind entertainment. Based in Los Angeles, the Lucent Dossier Experience will charm snakes and audience members at Club Nokia on Feb. 21.
Creating an interactive experience with its audience, the Lucent Dossier Experience often includes the conglomeration of a tribal orchestra, clowns, burlesque dancers, silk aerialists, fire dancers, sword swallowers and otherworldly creatures, having you question what’s real and what isn’t. Complete with singers crooning a “surreal soundtrack” of original music, the night will have you walking on emotional stilts.
Founded by Dream Rockwell, a Canadian stage director known for her interactive theater, Lucent Dossier is a self-funded troupe that began in 2004. Since then, Lucent Dossier has been seen at events all over the Los Angeles area, not to mention all over the world. Along with unique interactive shows made specifically for each venue, the Lucent Dossier Experience is known for their presence at art, music and film festivals. With performances at festivals like Coachella and Burning Man, Lucent Dossier has accrued a widespread fan base, seeping their unique, immersive exoticism into viewers.
Keen to collaborate and expand their reputation, Lucent Dossier has been seen in Panic! at the Disco’s music video, “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies,” that won the MTV Music Award for Best Music Video in 2006. Performers of Lucent Dossier have appeared in many other videos, promoting the exotica visions of their founder, Dream Rockwell. When not performing locally, Lucent Dossier has toured with musical groups like Motley Crue and Aerosmith, to name a few. Additionally, Lucent Dossier has developed a non-profit organization called Cuddle the World, which has the team members of Lucent Dossier showering snuggly teddy bears, blankets and hope on orphans all over the world.
Embellishing the performances with complex sounds will be the talented EDM musicians, MartyParty, Dirtwire and Nico Luminous. Join Lucent Dossier for a night of dreamlike bliss, as they continue to sweep across the globe with a theatrical spectacle that takes you far beyond your five senses.
Lucent Dossier will appear at Club Nokia on Feb. 21. Tickets available online.
