Comedian Bo Burnham to Take the Stage at Largo
The hilarious and amazingly talented Bo Burnham will be taking the stage at Largo on Sept. 11. Burnham is a unique combination of comedian and musician, which makes Largo the perfect venue for a show that you will not want to miss!
Both Burnham’s comedy and music address taboo subjects such as race, gender, sex, sexuality and religion. Bo signed a four record deal with Comedy Central records, after recording one of his performances in London for Comedy Central’s “The World Stands Up” in January 2008. Comedy Central Records released Bo’s first EP, which was a six-song alum “Bo Fo Sho”, as an online release only album in the summer of 2008. His first full album, which was self-titled “Bo Burnham”, was released on March 10, 2009. Bo has also performed his music all over the country at venues like Cobb’s Comedy Club, YouTube Live In San Francisco, Caroline’s Comedy Club in New York, and internationally in London and Montreal.
In addition to his comedy/music career, Bo is not breaking into the world of movies. A few years back, Bo met with the award-winning writer and producer Judd Apatow about creating the music for one of his upcoming films, which is an “anti” “High School Musical.” The project is still up in the air, however the ball is still rolling and he is involved in many more projects to come.
In addition, it is no surprise that Bo is building up his television credits as well. In 2010, MTV ordered a half-hour comedy pilot from Burnham about a “kid fresh out of high school who’s pursing the new American dream of being a celebrity with any talent.” Bo also wrote and executive produced “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous”, which lasted two seasons.
Bo Burnham is an out of this world performer, who is very likely going to be around for years to come. His unique combination of comedy and music is sure to have you up on your feet laughing and dancing at the same time!
