Lilly Wood & The Prick Will Take The Echoplex To Church

Lilly Wood & The Prick are an alternative pop and folk duo from France making a splash on every continent with access to the airwaves. Their hit single, “Prayer in C” has been remixed more times than we can count, and we aren’t complaining. The duo is finally bringing their catchy hooks to the United States on April 7 at the Echoplex before heading back overseas.

Nili Hadida and Benjamin Cotto came together back in 2006 when the two had a chance meeting and conversation in a Parisian cafe that ended with the decision to create music together. After two years of collaboration, the duo’s cover of Santogold’s, “L.E.S. Artistes” caught the attention of guitarist, Pierre Guimard, who fell so in love with the track that he offered them his studio to produce more work. At this time Nili and Benjamin were still going by the stage name of, “Lilly Who, and The What?” under which they released their compilation album “Folk & Proud” in 2008, followed by their self-titled EP in 2009 and their eventual signing to independent label Cinq7. Lilly Wood & The Prick released their first studio album back in May 2010 called, “Invisible Friends,” which gained them a nomination and win at the French Victoires De La Musique Awards in 2011. Their follow up album, “Fight” was released a year later, and kept fans coming back for more. It was not until mid 2014 that the duo saw true international fame. Their single, “Prayer in C,” originally from their debut album fell into the hands of German electronic producer, Robin Schulz, who remixed the song and made Lilly Wood & The Prick overnight dance club sensations.

Lilly Wood & The Prick show no signs of slowing down! With only a select few US tour dates, fans should take advantage of seeing the duo live in Los Angeles before they head back across the pond to finish off their tour.

Lilly Wood & The Prick will be at the Echoplex April 7. Tickets available here.
