The Pink Floyd Experience Hits Los Angeles

When it comes to music history there are handfuls of bands every rock fan really needs to know and respect, and Pink Floyd is one of them. While fans can’t see the band today, they can still get their fill with The Pink Floyd Experience at the Orpheum Theatre on March 28.

A new couple could buy a house in the US for a little over $10,000, the Watts riots caused fear in many and the Maple leaf became landed on Canada’s flag. It was 1965 and while all that was going on, a group of guys in London were forming a band of which they likely had no idea would go on to be one of the most influential ever. They went on to perform together until the early ‘90s, had a one off reunion in 2005 and then played together for a year in 2013. In between all that they released “The Wall” and “Dark Side of the Moon,” two records considered two of the greatest ever recorded. They also and deservedly were inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and into the UK Music Hall of Fame nine years later.

It’s not wonder that Annerin Productions has taken on the task of taking this iconic band’s music and turning into an experience. For years Pink Floyd’s shows have been described with a number of words, the most common being “psychedelic” and “conceptual.” The experience is about making something grand out of music that can already play and impress on its own.

Not many bands could pull off something like this. What The Pink Floyd Experience does is bring fans and the music of their favorite band together in an intimate setting while creating an atmosphere that’s all about wonder.
