Catch Maudlin Strangers Perform at The Satellite

Dark indie rock act, Maudlin Strangers, released their EP Overdose just this past January and believe us, it should be immediately added to your current play list. Brainchild of Agoura Hills singer/ songwriter Jake Hays, Overdose, is already proving to be this summer’s sleeper hit. Fans and new music connoisseurs will be able to catch Maudlin Strangers perform at The Satellite.

One does not usually get lucky enough to discover such a potentially popular band so early in their development. A quick search on iTunes will reveal that Maudlin Strangers only has five available tracks up for purchase, but that’s not stopping the buzz around their name. Hays’ voice sounds eerily similar to that of Arctic Monkeys’ frontman Alex Turner and this, paired with the dreamy flow of lyrics and catchy electro-pop beats, makes Maudlin Strangers the perfect new musical pairing for anyone with a penchance for Lana Del Rey, The Drums, or Purity Ring. Their EP was Impressively produced entirely out of Hays’ own bedroom; and from the sounds,it is poised to quickly join the world of electro-pop artists who seemingly go from mixtapes to instant sold-out shows.
