Joe Rogan Brings His Standup to The Wiltern

While most may recognize Joe Rogan from his role as host of NBC’s “Fear Factor,” others know him as the intense but hilarious standup comedian. On Dec. 31, Joe Rogan brings his standup to The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

Joe Rogan began as a commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after several television appearances in shows such as “Hardball” in which he co-starred.  After commentating, he moved into the standup comedy world where he had major success and gaining a name for himself. Rogan has recorded several comedy standup specials, including “Joe Rogan: Rocky Mountain High,” “Joe Rogan: Talking Monkeys in Space” and “Joe Rogan Live from the Tabernacle.”

After launching a career in comedy, Rogan started hosting various shows, the most well-known being the American version of “Fear Factor,” which he hosted from 2001 until 2006. In 2003, he took over as one of the faces of “The Man Show” replacing Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla.  A decade later he carried his very own show, “Joe Rogan Questions Everything,” which aired six episodes in all.

In 2013, Rogan was part of a comedic controversy after he called out fellow comedian, Carlos Mencia, live on stage accusing him of stealing his, along with various other comedians’, material. George Lopez, Reverend Bob Levy, Bobby Lee and Ari Shaffir commented in support of Rogan’s claim, and Mencia later admitted that he had in fact stolen jokes from other performers.

Rogan’s current podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” features a long form conversation between Rogan and guests on various topics with a raw style, and is one of the most popular on iTunes.

Joe Rogan will bring his show to The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Dec. 31.  Tickets can be purchased here.
