Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Killers Lead Lineup for 2017 Austin City Limits

Austin, TX, the music capital of the world, will once again host the Austin City Limits Music Festival over two weekends this Fall. From Oct. 6-8 and 13-15, Zilker Park will become the home for numerous stages, food trucks, and over 140 bands.
Headlining this year’s event is a plethora of icons both old and new. Veteran rapper Jay-Z is just as relevant now as he ever was —not only because he’s one half of arguably the most beloved couple in pop culture. While Jigga has been in businessman mode in recent years, only popping up on a verse here and there, its rumored he’s working on a new album. His ACL set could be one for the books. Red Hot Chili Peppers have another album in the works, even just after the release of 2016’s “The Getaway.” Chance the Rapper is having himself quite a time after his explosive “Coloring Book” release last year. He’s booked headlining spots all over the place including at the upcoming ACL Fest. The Killers are said to have a new project in the making after cryptically tweeting images and notes entitled “The Man.” Expect them to showcase new tunes during this performance. Gorillaz are back after a seven-year hiatus, with their new album “Humanz” dropping this past April. The enigmatic band always surprises fans with their live, virtual shenanigans. Dutch DJ Martin Garrix has found himself amongst these titans at ACL. This twenty-one-year-old producer recently collaborated with South African singer Troye Sivan, who joined Garrix on stage at Coachella to perform “There For You.”
Other names to take the stage at this year’s ACL Fest are: The XX, Ice Cube, Ryan Adams, Solange, Run the Jewels, The Head and The Heart, Foster the People, Spoon, Vance Joy, ZHU, Glass Animals, Tove Lo, Milky Chance, Portugal the Man, Bonobo, Cut Copy, Crystal Castles, A$AP Ferg, First Aid Kit, Rüfüs Du Sol and Louis the Child—among many, many more.
Amenities are set to include ACL Eats Food Court, serving up plenty of tacos (a Texas favorite), an Art Market for perusing local works, a mini-fest for the kiddos, and phone-charging stations for the big kids not quite ready to unplug.
The hipness of Austin is not to be underestimated; this goes for their hotels too. Plus, ACL is located just outside of downtown, making it even more convenient when searching for a hotel. Casulo Hotel is for those new age thinkers looking to zen out amidst a wild weekend (or two) of music and revelry. Casulo invites you to the spaciousness of their distinctively chill atmosphere located just outside of downtown. Hotel Saint Cecilia takes its inspiration from the artists and scene-creators of the 60’s and 70’s. This is the place with the outdoor pool which features a large neon sign sitting amongst the trees which simply reads “SOUL.” Within this sprawling, secluded property, you’ll find gorgeously decorated rooms, lounges and a lobby filled with vinyl records. As one of the more contemporary hotels in the city, Kimber Modern deems itself an “all-inclusive oasis.” Bright colors, clean lines, and vibrant aesthetics line the halls and rooms of this artfully hip SoCo district hotel.
Austin City Limits will take place Oct. 6 – Oct. 8 and Oct. 13 – Oct. 15. Tickets for both weekends can be purchased here.
