October is a spectacular month for entertainment in Los Angeles. With Halloween creeping around the corner, there’s a ton of events happening around the city to spark your spooky spirit and meet tons of other ghouls while doing so. If Halloween isn’t your favorite holiday, have no fear. There are also a wide array of art, music, and food festivals that won’t have you covering your eyes every time you walk around the corner.

Halloween Horror Nights | Sept. 19-Nov. 01
Every year at Universal Studios, Universal wow’s audiences with unbelievable scare tactics that leave people coming back for more, to see how last years frightful activities can be topped. Don’t miss out on the scariest event to take place on the west coast.

Jersey Boys | Sept. 30–October 19
The Pantages Theatre once again delivers a crowd favorite. This Tony Award-winning musical is sure to inspire your inner thespian. From the Chicago Tribune to New York Times, reviewers everywhere are raving about Jersey Boys. Come and see why this live show recently inspired a major motion picture.

Knott’s Scary Farm | Sept. 25-Nov. 01
October just got a little scarier. Knott’s Berry Farm becomes Knott’s Scary farm, and hosts a ton of attractions from terrifying exhibits, to thrilling rides, to live theater where you will sure be spooked. Some of the places you can visit include the gypsy camp, the carnival, and a ghost town. Prepare to be scared!

The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor  | Oct. 02-Nov. 02
Ghost stories abound on this old decommissioned ship. If you’re the type that loves tracking down a good haunt then this destination is for you. Just be careful not to pass through a ghost as the experience can be chilling.

Vegan Oktoberfest | Oct. 04
If you love good, authentic food, come on over to to Santa Monica for the worlds first Vegan Oktoberfest! There will be traditional food, live Oompah bands, Bavarian maids, and beer from top-notch breweries. Better yet, a portion of the proceeds will go towards Expand Animal Right Now, an organization that strives to use the legal system to help animals.

Elton John | Oct. 04-Oct. 05

Lorde | Oct. 06-Oct. 07

James Beard Foundation’s Taste America | Oct. 10-Oct. 11
Food-tographers, food bloggers and all-purpose foodies can not miss the James Beard Foundation’s LA Iteration of ‘Taste America.’ This year’s edition takes place at the gorgeous cathedral-turned-event-space Vibiana and is hosted by chef Neal Fraser of Redbird. A percentage of ticket sales will fund a James Beard Foundation scholarship.

Isabella Rossellini Presents: Green Porno Live! | Oct. 11
Italian actress/filmmaker/model Isabella Rossellini will prove that nature and pornography go hand in hand when she performs her show “Green Porno Live” at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
Rossellini makes use of elaborate costumes and cardboard cut outs in order to reenact the mating rituals of a variety of species, including the dragonfly, spider, bee, praying mantis, earthworm, snail, and various marine life.

LA Fashion & Style Fashion Week | Oct. 06-12 and Oct. 15-Oct 19

The Show will benefit the cancer prevention program at Saint John’s Health Center.

‘We Can Survive’ Benefit Concert | Oct. 24 
Get ready for the biggest names in pop music performing live at the Hollywood Bowl — and for a great cause! CBS Radio announced the return of “We Can Survive,” concert series, a live-music event to raise awareness for breast cancer. This year’s performers include Taylor Swift, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, Lady Antebellum, Iggy Azalea, Paramore, and Sia, with a special guest appearance by Gwen Stefani.

Bob Dylan and His Band at Dolby Theatre | Oct. 24-26

Brewery Art Walk | Oct. 25-26
Happening twice annually in Los Angeles, the Brewery Art Walk is an excellent event for art lovers and collectors combined. Dia De Los Muertos | Nov. 01
The 15th annual Day of the Dead celebration will take place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery from 12pm-12am. This Mexican holiday is believed to be the thinnest day between the worlds, so get the cemetery to honor the spirits. Sugar Skulls will be in high demand as revelers take over Hollywood Forever to dance, eat, and enjoy this epic celebration day and night. This year’s theme will be Quinceanera, so dress appropriately!
