‘The Godfather’ Film Teams Up With a Live Orchestra at Nokia Theatre

One of the most well-known and timeless pieces of fine film work, “The Godfather,” will be having another go at audiences – this time on a much bigger platform with an accompanying live orchestra ears can happily feast on. The show will take place on Jan. 24 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.

One doesn’t have to be a fan of organized crime drama to enjoy Mario Puzo’s and Francis Ford Coppola’s celebrated collaboration that was first released in 1972. The Godfather”, starring actors such as Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire, effortlessly stands the test of time with its array of unfortunate events that take place within the Italian lineage.

The film follows an infamous patriarch with its crime lord who seeks to transfer his covert empire to his son who couldn’t seem to care less about the family business. As a result, many acts of outrage, insolence, murder and revenge take place to pack this crime drama with high levels of entertainment that still stand up quite well four decades after its initial release.

“The Godfather” wasn’t always regarded as a hit, especially before Coppola stepped up to the plate to direct. When asked about how he got involved with a film that was turned down by a handful of directors before him, he stated, “Hollywood is very quick to judge what can work and what can’t work. So the idea didn’t really light a fire with anyone.”
