The French Invasion Starts with Klingande at The Fonda

With a huge success on the Internet, deep house producer Klingande has become a renowned artists in a very short time. Now he’s bringing his French style to the Fonda Theatre on March 21.

When Cédric, now know as Klingande, first started out he was heavily influenced by Swedish house music. He took his stage name from the Swedish language. Since his beginnings, his style has gone from being influenced by house music to having its own sound.

He quickly hit number one on Hype Machine. This led to him having well over five million YouTube views, and almost two million plays on SoundCloud. That’s impressive for an artist who isn’t a household name. While he’s not on the level of David Guetta, he’s a massive artist in the house music realm in the UK because of his online presence.

His first single in 2013, “Punga,” didn’t quite capture audiences like his second, “Jubel.” It caught many by surprise as it layered different textures with the saxophone. That’s not a common sound in house, so it stood out and allowed him to step into the limelight. This year he released “Rive (Restart the Game)” and many flocked to it, as it had been a while since they had anything concrete to hold onto from Klingande.

Having studied music theory as a kid, this artist is one who knows his stuff. He’s more than a amateur who found a program on a laptop and decided music was better than a “real” career like being a lawyer or a doctor. He’s someone who knows the ins and out of the craft and therefore he’s definitely a show worth viewing.
